Melomania.

Melomania is proposal which seeks to establish a dedicated nucleus in which a flourishing Sydney Jazz scene can develop. Split between two levels the project encapsulates the emotional conditions which form Jazz, producing a harmonic variability which attempts to mirror Jazz’s adaptability.

Jazz is integrated into an urban threshold matching the fast-paced city life with expressive and diverse sounds from developing musicians. A light and translucent roof shelters a a series of open spaces tucked between heritage architecture. Underground, the building unveils itself as an intimate bar. The muted space bellow, honours the music, liberating its patrons from the city.
